Hopefully, this will not be too complicated. Any team wishing to make a bid on a free agent will begin a "new thread" on this board.
I think that's everything. Start bidding at your pleasure.
- To do so, click on "New Thread."
- The Subject Line will be the player's name
- You are placing a bid for $$ per year. NO YEARS are to be listed.
- I will determine the contract years by dice roll (so, no more than 6 years). Also, if a player is 36 y.o. or older, there will be a max of 2 years.
- If, at the end of bidding, the winning offer is less than the player's minimum demand, the player remains a free agent.
- If, at the end of bidding, the team with the winning offer cannot afford the winning deal, the player will go to the team with the next highest bid. (So watch your finances)
- If, at the end of bidding, the player "does not like" your organization, or "wants to play for a winner" --or for any other reason refuses to accept your offer, the winning bidder will be the next highest qualifying bidder.
- In the above 2 cases, the winning salary will be the bid placed by the team who signs the player (as the "high" bid may be considered non-qualifying).
- All bidding ends at midnight EDT, Friday August 24, 2007. I will watch the posting clock for accuracy. The Commish will not place any bids within the final hour of bidding.
- Every has a bag limit of 4 free agents during this period.
- Bid on anyone you want, but no bids for minor league deals will be accepted. You must start at the minimum ($150k). Minimum bid increment is $50k up to $300k per year; $100k up to $1 million per year; and $500k above $1 million per year.
I think that's everything. Start bidding at your pleasure.
