There will be a deadline posted. By that time, each team must send rosters adjustments so that only 20 players are on the ML roster. This will expedite the drafting, as we will only have to look at the minors. Any player currently on the injury report, and still there after the coaching offers have been simmed, may stay and will be considered protected.
If you do not own the game, please tell me where to place players rather than sending a list of the 20 you want on the ML roster. Example-
"Send to AAA: P Joe Smith 2B John Doe OF Zeke Redneck
Send to ML roster: P Rubber Arm 1B Toe Nails"
etc., etc (Because of the labor-intensive nature of an expansion draft, I will only process manual roster moves that are in the above format.)
I will make any decisions regarding teams who have not complied by the deadline as to who is/is not protected.
As in 1993, you will be allowed one pull back player after the first claim from your roster.
The two expansion teams will each pick 30 players. No more than 15 of these can be pitchers.

A few questions on the expansion draft and the expansion in general:
Will our 1997 draft picks also be protected in addition to the 20 players on the ML roster as we did in the 1993 expansion draft?
Also will we still be allowed to pull one player back after we lose our first player as we did in 1993?
Will the limits be the same as to how many players a team can lose, 3 for teams with a 1997 losing record and 5 for those with a winning record?
Since the expansion teams will be allowed to reserve right all of their 1998 rookies does this take the place of their draft picks in the 1998 rookie draft or is that in addition to their allotment of draft picks?

As in 1993, you will be allowed one pull back player after the first claim from your roster. The two expansion teams will each pick 30 players. No more than 15 of these can be pitchers. Will the teams lose the rest of their picks for reserving their true 98 rookies? I think not. They will give up their 3rd round picks only. Look at the players we're talking about. Sheesh. Teams with a losing record in 1997 can only lose 3 players. Teams with a winning record can lose up to 5. 1997 draft picks and legitimate DL players are also protected, except for the Yankees. ha ha, just kidding Jeff...everything else is right...all 97 rookies are protected.

I need to clarify this...only 1997 draftees are protected, not rookies. Just in case there is any confusion. I used both terms above. ONLY 97 draftees are protected.
